Many crock-pot recipes are around a protein source (chicken, beef, fish or other) in the center. One possibility, as with many other spices, add to another protein. This recipe does just that and is a wonderful blend of flavors with just one. Wild venison (deer) has a unique taste. It tastes a bit 'like beef, but it tastes "wild". When combined with dark chicken meat, cooked slowly and you will get a very tasty flavor mix. I serve this withcooked rice and maybe a salad and cabbage.
